John Pennington, at the age of 21, arrived in Australia aboard the ship Golden Era, which travelled from England and arrived in Port Phillip in Jun 1854. He was accompanied by a ‘B. Pennington’ who was aged 32.

 Death notice of Harriet Missing

PENNINGTON.—September 21, at Chiltern, Victoria, Harriet, the beloved wife of John N. Pennington, aged 62 years. Deeply regretted.
(Australian Town and Country Journal, 30 September 1893 p.18)The funeral of the late Mrs John Pennington, a resident of Chiltern for upwards of thirty years, took place on Sunday and was largely attended. The burial service of the Church of England was read at the Chiltern New Cemetery in a most impressive manner by Mr W. Boucher, and the funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mr Oscar Smith.

 Death notice of John Noble Pennington

MR PENNINGTON. Mr Pennington, father of Mrs C. Smith (Tattersall’s Hotel) took a bad turn during the week, and now lies in a very serious condition. Dr Robinson is attending him. The patient is a very old man, and since being thrown out of a buggy some two years ago he has been in failing health. At the time of going to press he was no better.
